and technology professionals, educators, and students.

​About SWUSITT:

SWUSITT is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting THEATRE DESIGN, TECHNOLOGY, and EDUCATION as a right to every individual. Our 51-year history in the Southwest Region is evidence of our dedication and endurance as an independently incorporated non-profit. 

Our organization provides the opportunity for educational symposia, volunteerism, networking, and mentorship.  We are proud to partner with numerous commercial vendors and sponsors that support theatre arts and theatre technology.  We have been proud to host world class artists and artisan, to help enrich the learning opportunities for our members.  From annual presentations and trainings provided by sponsors in lighting, to rendering and prop construction.  In 2022 our goal is to continue to focus our Symposium on education and mentorship. We have worked hard to continuously offer our Student Design Competition and it will continue in 2023. Through this competition open to student members, students are given one-on-one feedback from industry professionals, while having the chance to compete for a variety of prizes and scholarships provided by our regional sponsors and vendors.

We are excited about our future with the planning of our next Annual Symposium and Student Design Competition.  This annual event will serve as a development opportunity for all of our members, as well as serve as the location for our Annual Meeting. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding our 2023 Annual Symposium at Reedy High School in Frisco Texas. ​
